Many colleges ask for additional supplemental essays to gain a deeper understanding of who you are and the values and contributions you’ll bring to their campus. Some supplemental essay questions can be quirky, asking about your favorite riddle or movie or time travel destination. Others are more serious asking how you spend your time outside of school or why you want to attend their university. Ultimately, through these supplemental essay questions, college admissions officers want to gain a full picture of who you are and the unique qualities you’ll add to their campus. Let’s impress them with a response that measures up!

Where will we meet?
We’ll collaborate over Zoom. I offer appointments 7 days a week, so finding a time is easy!
How will we work together?
We’ll meet over Zoom and collaborate together using a shared Google Doc.
Do you charge by the hour?
The Thoughtful Essay does not operate on an hourly rate. Rather, I feel it’s important to be able to spend the time necessary to brainstorm, get to know the student, his/her background, interests, and activities. In order for the ideal essay topic(s) to emerge, thorough brainstorming and extensive discussions are necessary. From there, drafting, revising, and polishing will take time.
How much do you charge for Supplemental Essay coaching?
Supplemental College essays can range in length from as few as 35 words to more than 650! Often the shorter essays can be just as challenging because every word must be precisely and meticulously chosen for maximum impact. Prices range from $250-$500 depending on word count and the total number of essays. Building a cost-effective and thoughtful package for your budget and needs is my priority.

How do I pay?
50% payment for Supplemental College Essay sessions is expected upon booking and will hold your spot. The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the 2nd session. I accept most forms of payment including Venmo, Zelle, ApplePay, Paypal, MC, Visa, AmEx, and Discover. Would you like to request a different payment arrangement? Just ask.
What if I need additional help?
If you decide you’d like additional help, you may credit the price of your session to the Comprehensive College Application Support service. Help is on the way!
Will you write my essay for me?
Simply stated, no. The Thoughtful Essay will not write the student’s essay for him/her. Not only would it be unethical to do so, but it would also be a great disservice for the student and undermine the authenticity of the college application process. The essays submitted will be the student’s work (of course, with help and guidance).
