Importance
Seeking feedback about your college essays or Letter of Intent from an experienced college essay coach and editor will give you a leg up. Although it’s great to get feedback from peers, it’s important to remember the person reading your essay (or letter) on the selection committee or in the admissions office will likely be someone from a completely different generation. I have experience accompanying countless students on their college application journey, and I also have specialized knowledge about college essays and Letters of Intent. I will give you objective and expert feedback to improve your writing and align you and your experiences with the program, position, and institution you are applying to.
I offer 2 tiers of Proofreading, Editing and Feedback depending on your needs and the length of your writing:
Technical Review includes editing & perfecting punctuation, grammar, and spelling; creating pristine word choices and improving formatting; streamlining transitions and smoothing awkward phrases or sentences. Usually 48-hour turnaround time or faster.

Content Review includes a technical review as well as feedback to help you incorporate changes/additions to the overall content to improve the effectiveness of your essay (or letter) to align you and your experiences with the program, position, and institution. Zoom meeting is strongly encouraged.

How do I pay?
Payment for Proofreading, Editing and Review services is expected in-full before I begin working. I accept most forms of payment including Venmo, Zelle, ApplePay, Paypal, MC, Visa, AmEx, and Discover. Would you like to request a different payment arrangement? Just ask.
How does it work? We’ll work together in a shared Google doc. You may create, share, and add thethoughtfulessay@gmail.com as an editor in a shared Google doc. Or you may email your essay or letter to thethoughtfulessay@gmail.com.
When will I receive feedback?
Usually you’ll receive feedback in 48 hours (or sooner) for a Technical Review. A Content Review, which includes more in-depth revisions and at least 1 meeting over Zoom, will take longer.
What is the difference between a Technical Review and a Content Review?
The most important difference between a Technical Review and a Content Review is that a Technical Review will not include any changes to the content of your essay or letter. A Technical Review includes editing & perfecting punctuation, grammar, and spelling; creating pristine word choices and formatting; smoothing awkward phrases and sentences as well as streamlining transitions.
If you are open to a more in-depth analysis of the content and overall effectiveness of your essay or letter, then a Content Review is for you! We’ll dive deep into the content of your essay or letter and incorporate changes and additions to better align you and your experiences with the program or institution to be sure you’re highlighting the values and contributions you’ll bring to their campus.
