Importance
Who are you beyond the grades and scores that fill your college application? The college essay is arguably the most important piece of writing a high schooler has tackled up until this point. Furthermore, brainstorming and choosing a topic is often the hardest part of writing a college essay. College admissions officers aren’t looking for a well-written book report or a research paper. Instead, they are hoping to gain a glimpse into who you are and the values and contributions you will bring to their college campus. This session will help you choose a topic and explore how this topic will illuminate what’s important to you. You’ll leave with a roadmap and the tools to write a compelling college essay.

FAQ's
Why 3 sessions? Brainstorming can be the most challenging part of the writing process, and this stage will take time. When your mind has been immersed in the middle of an idea for a long period of time, it can sometimes be hard to have a “lightbulb” moment. Often it’s after you close your computer and walk away (maybe while walking your dog or in the shower) that inspiration will hit, and you’ll return with fresh ideas and a new perspective.
Where will we meet? We’ll collaborate over Zoom. Finding a time is easy since I offer appointments mornings, afternoons and evenings 7 days a week.
How will we work together? We’ll meet over Zoom and collaborate together using a shared Google Doc.
How do I pay? 50% payment for the Brainstorming sessions is expected upon booking and will hold your spot. The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the second session.
